CHRISTUS Health Alamogordo Nationally Recognized With an "A" Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — CHRISTUS Health Alamogordo has received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2026. This national distinction recognizes CHRISTUS Health Alamogordo’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and errors in the hospital.

“This represents the hard work and dedication that our team demonstrates on a daily basis,” said Reuben Murray, president of CHRISTUS Health Alamogordo. “Our patients are our friends, neighbors and family members, and our Associates work hard to ensure Alamogordo receives exceptional care. This is something our entire community can be proud of.”

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns letter grades of “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the spring and fall.
